Has anyone been to the Ruins of Alph lately? I know I investigated them for a few weeks when I was in Violet City when I started out, but has anyone else?

[He pauses, then tugs out his Trainer Handbook. He's written something in the front cover of it, and he's going to post it.]

Our words shall remain here for the ages,
Thus we shall erect a Pokémon statue outside.
They possess great insight and refuse the outside world.
We humans must learn to walk in harmony with them. We depart for their sakes.



That's roughly what the text on the walls. It took me a while to figure it out... That's why I was there for so long. I'm still kind of disappointed that I didn't see any weird Pokémon while I was staying though. I guess they're really shy.

Really? My...companion, I suppose you could call him, and I could have done with seeing less "weird Pokémon" in the area; I've no idea why - though if they can sense fear, then it's entirely my companion's fault and I'll waste no time in blaming him for it.

Regardless, we've been there fairly recently. Not long enough to investigate the text, however - that is interesting, though I do wonder what in the world possessed you to wander around that hideous hole in the ground for any longer than you really had to.

Is that a warning not to go inside? Maybe humans hurt those Pokemon long ago, so they wrote that to warn others not to make that mistake! [He sounds a little upset. He doesn't like to see animals hurt by human carelessness/malice...]

How interesting. An eternal message for the generations to come, vaguely ominous in its wording, and yet, we do not seem to have heeded it. There is a research center at the Ruins, isn't there?

I recall seeing some of the text while I was there, but I don't believe that I managed to take down the full message. I don't believe that I saw any of those particular Pokemon, either-although, in both cases, I'll admit that I haven't been back there since my first attempt at researching the place was interrupted by that three day blackout. Have you returned since then?

That sounds very... hm. Interesting, I want to say. A little concerning, if we may be intruding on something, but this world seems to "walk in harmony" with Pokemon, if that's what the writing is implying.
