Has anyone been to the Ruins of Alph lately? I know I investigated them for a few weeks when I was in Violet City when I started out, but has anyone else?

[He pauses, then tugs out his Trainer Handbook. He's written something in the front cover of it, and he's going to post it.]

Our words shall remain here for the ages,
Thus we shall erect a Pokémon statue outside.
They possess great insight and refuse the outside world.
We humans must learn to walk in harmony with them. We depart for their sakes.

That's roughly what the text on the walls. It took me a while to figure it out... That's why I was there for so long. I'm still kind of disappointed that I didn't see any weird Pokémon while I was staying though. I guess they're really shy.

[Yes he's starting to think about this again what's the big deal]

Well, given the nature of the creatures that tend to inhabit that place, I wouldn't be surprised if anyone exploring that place truly believed they had some sort of insight to the world that the rest of creation doesn't quite share. We ran across an unusually high concentration of Psychic-types in that place, after all; my companion is a bit susceptible to psychic suggestions for reasons that can't be disclosed here, and he seemed incredibly bothered by their presence. I can see where that would be a bit...jarring, really, to anyone unfamiliar with such Pokémon and coming across them for the first time. Perhaps it pertains to that?

[...he's. kind of a closet dork about things like this, okay...]

The one that I'm sure was seared into my companion's memory particularly strongly was this thing; I haven't the vaguest idea how to describe it - a very rare phenomenon, as I go, my control of language is usually a superior one.

[After that not-so-subtle round of ego stroking, you can have an image - the creature depicted is somehow managing to get across an expression clearly depicting a "You have got to be kidding" sentiment, despite the lack of discernible face. It's been subjected to Reaver's...well, camwhoring...on a rather regular basis...]

[...that is quite possibly the most apt analogy for what Reaver does, yes.]

Believe me, it's not any better when it's approaching you in the darkness of those lower levels. As they are prone to doing.

Although I must admit that I'm not familiar with this...Galpos; care to go on?
